Former Perlis Umno information chief Datuk Hashim Suboh slammed Datuk Dr Rais Yatim, and described the Minister of Information, Communication and Culture as a source of controversy independence day celebrations on Aug 31.
"Dr Rais, the cabinet member who do not understand the meaning of transformation is to be made by the Prime Minister. He has damaged the momentum of the independence day celebrations."
"Because of him the opposition has politicized theme of independence day. Let's just he (Dr Rais) resigned and withdrew. This old do not understand the current needs."
"He has damaged the momentum transformation Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Now the blame, BN, UMNO and Najib, "he said today.
According to Hashim, the theme of the day should be characterized by the spirit of national independence to ensure that all people have pride in being citizens of an independent.However, said Dr Rais political stupidity can lead to a bland celebration of Independence Day.
"We have sympathy with the Prime Minister who wants to perform the transformation, but is hampered by cabinet members who do not understand."
"Cabinet Ministers also needs transformation but very different with this one. He does not understand the transformation, "added Hashim again.
Opposition rejects the theme, claiming that it promises are kept BN campaign. Pakatan Rakyat also a week that promises are kept withdrawn.
